Proper storage temperature for asparagus is from 0 to +1 degrees. The humidity should be about 90%. At these storage conditions, asparagus sprouts can be stored without loosing a taste and structure for 3-4 weeks.
Unfortunately, such temperature regime may not be reached in the refrigerator, where asparagus remains fresh for three days –one week at most. In order to extend the shelf life of asparagus, you can wrap the sprouts with a wet cloth or put a fresh asparagus in a vase of water like flowers and leave it in a dark and cool place.
